ART FOR YOU FOR ADULTS
Opportunity to try out Wednesday morning (10am-12) adult art class!
Currently, my only group class is full (5 students) but there are a few opportunities to join that class casually this term when some of my regular participants have planned absences: 7 February (2 spaces); 14 February (2 spaces); 21 February (1 space); 20 March (1 space). Need to be booked/paid by day before.
Contact me to book or for more details. Fee is $20/2 hour session includes drawing and/or collage materials (or paint for painting exercises but you wouldn’t have time to make an actual painting).
Opportunity to have individual tuition or create a new group!
How about coming to an art class for you in 2024?
Contact me for more details (also see below and Times & Fees page) and to let me know what you’d like, here in my studio in Avonhead, Otautahi Christchurch or off-site (eg your community centre or retirement village).
In my studio classes, I usually negotiate each adult student’s own programme with you before you start and as we go along – even if you’re part of a group. (There can be exceptions to this.)
I offer things like:
- Teaching you to draw – or improve your drawing – with close observation of real things in front of you – possibly a pair of boots, or a self-portrait using a mirror, or something else special to you;
- Trying out all sorts of mark-making with various materials;
- Using drawings and/or photos to devise compositions for finished paintings – so the paintings say what you want to say about the subject.
Fees, in my studio, except for Wednesday mornings, depend on the number in the group up to a maximum of 5 students: Individual tuition = $55/2 hour session; $40 each if there are 2 of you; $35 each if there are 3 of you; $30 each if there are 4 or 5 of you.
(These fees are paid week by week and not paid if you cancel. So text communication is vital as I need to warn others fees would be more, with fewer students, and they can choose to cancel too.)
Most materials are provided by me included in the fee: Various drawing media and paper; collage materials and fabric; artists’ quality acrylic or water mixable oil paint + small amount of primed canvas to try them.
You provide most canvas, or alternative ground or even objects to paint on, if you choose to pursue painting.
I teach in my home studio in Avonhead, Christchurch.
A small group means you get plenty of individual attention as well as the company and stimulation of others.
Hope to meet you – or see you again – soon!
Judy
